Smartwatches are quite the trend right now, and more and more tech giants are coming up with newer models integrated with advanced technology. One Plus has recently declared that it will be unveiling its smartwatch sometime early next year and has also hinted at the possibilities of a Nord SE on or around the same time.
In case you did not know, One Plus Nord has been a major hit this 2020. Priced at an extremely affordable rate of just Rs. 29,999 – the feature-packed, cheap-priced phone from the tech giant that is always in competition with Apple managed to break the mobile market.
The 5G phone flaunts a quad-camera set up at the back with a 48 MP wide lens, 8 MP ultrawide lens, 5 MP lens for depth, and a 2 MP macro lens. Along with this, it has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, while the higher variants have 8GB RAM and 128 GB Internal Storage and 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
All this under 30K made it the most bought smartphone in the year 2020. The One Plus watch was allegedly supposed to launch along with the One Plus 8T, but due to unknown reasons was called off.
It was almost a confirmed speculation, given that its parent company BBK Electronics other child companies, and consequently One Plus’s siblings and subsidiaries RealMe and Oppo had already stepped into the smartwatch war with their launches.
Official Confirmation From The Chinese Tech Giant
However, the Chinese company has managed to stir up rumors and speculations for the same with their recent tweet.
Things got even more interesting when Pete Lau tweeted, “Many of you said you wanted a watch, and as you might have heard over the weekend — we’re making one, to be released early next year. Wishes do come true.”
The Chinese tech giant has not revealed an official launch date of the watch yet, however, we’re presuming it will tag along with the launch of the successor of this year’s flagship model, the One Plus 9 series.
Reports also suggest that both could launch as early as March. Back in October, this year One Plus teased its smartwatch flaunting a circular design, setting speculations ablaze of the launch of the same.
However, when it wasn’t launched along with One Plus 8T, the famous tipster Max Jambor took to Twitter to inform the Twitterati about the smartwatch’s launch being postponed indefinitely.
Contrary to his claim, Lau confirmed in a recent interview with the Input that a One Plus smartwatch is in the making and will be launched early next year.
Even though there were rumors that the watch will run on Wear OS, it still hasn’t been confirmed by the official resources or any renowned tipsters yet.
One Plus Nord SE vs. One Plus Nord
About the Nord SE, alleged rumors state that there won’t be any significant hardware upgrades to the new addition to the Nord series. It is, although, supposed to have a 6.4 inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
However, few reports have been around that the SE could have a higher battery capacity of that of 4500 mAh, as opposed to Nord which is 4115 mAH and would also support fast charging 66W.
Both the One Plus SE and One Plus 9 along with the One Plus Smartwatch are said to release sometime in March next year.
