News has surfaced on the internet that One Plus is planning to release a third model with its upcoming flagship series, the One Plus 9 Lite. It is set to release early next year, along with One Plus 9 and One Plus 9 Pro.
However, the One Plus 9 Lite is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, instead of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The other two flagship models, however, are going to be powered by the latest SoC, say sources.
Initially, it was speculated that the third model will be called the One Plus 9E. However, news has now confirmed that One Plus is planning to call it One Plus 9 Lite.
Similar news surfaced earlier this year when people and tipsters speculated the launch of this model for the One Plus 8 series, guessing that it could be named the One Plus 8 Lite. However, One Plus only released two, them being the One Plus 8 and One Plus 8 Pro, and a One Plus Nord.
However, news is in the air that One Plus is planning to branch its options out, aiming to release more models with each flagship series to make more options available to the consumers. Meaning, it might bury the two-trend it had set till One Plus 7 for once and for all.
Given that its competitor companies such as tech giants like Apple are now on a four-model trend with the 12, it’s highly possible One Plus might follow suit as well.
The One Plus 9 Lite is said to not be powered by the latest Qualcomm processor, which sets speculations that it might be priced more aggressively than the rest. The One Plus 9 base model is said to be priced anywhere around Rs. 50,000 to Rs.58,000; while the One Plus 9 Pro might be even costlier.
On the other hand, given the One Plus 9 Lite might not have the latest processor, it is possible that it might flaunt a much affordable price. Given the hit that the One Plus Nord was among users with its super cheap price tag of under Rs. 30,000 even though being crammed with quality specs, it’s highly possible that One Plus might want to keep the trend up.
Smartphones are but a short time investment, and many people find shelling out thousands of money for it worthless, especially for a device that runs only as slick and smooth as new for the initial two years.
This is the reason why a lot of people found the One Plus Nord to be a better, more wise investment than most other smartphones this year. If we look at the situation like that, the One Plus 9 Lite can be a major hit in 2021 as well, that is, if at all it is released.
These are but alleged reports and news confirmed by sources, without any official proof. So don’t delve deeper into it, just take the news with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed as yet.
