WANDERLUST| Salomon X-Trail holds successful Davao circuit

“OUTRUN the road, outlast the trail” – that’s what the participants of Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas achieved during the Davao leg of the trail running competition held last August 23 in Barangay Guilon, Island Garden City of Samal.

Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas Davao is a project of the Primer Group of Companies, Davao AdventureX, and Everest Outdoors. Backed by Salomon, the world’s number one brand in trail running, the Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas this time took the highly anticipated technical trail running race to the Island Garden City of Samal.

Known for its beautiful sceneries and rugged terrain, IGACOS’ island lure enamored trail running participants with varying trail skill levels. The race took the contestants to a mix of diverse landscapes and surfaces, from dirt, rocks, sand to concrete tracks.

The Salomon X-Trail Davao consisted of two race categories: the 24km Mountain Run and the 6km Trail Run. These categories are said to be perfect for all types of trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts who want to challenge their stamina and endurance.

For the 6 km Road-to-Trail category, the following contenders triumphed: Male Category -

1st place- Elton Tan, 2nd place- Nathan Allan Bailey, 3rd place- Brody Cranknell; Female Category – 1st place- Mariel Cantila; 2nd place- Jeane Anne Noble; 3rd place- Karen Joy Laure. The race took the outdoor enthusiasts’ running skills to the next level as the 6 km route is a perfect introduction to trails.

Meanwhile, the 24 km Mountain Run, targeted for the more experienced runners, tested the energy of the following victors: Male Category – 1st place- Elias Tabac, 2nd place- Mark Anthony Rance, 3rd place- Rexie Joy Rivero; Female Category – 1st place- Joana Yap, 2nd place- Hedda Riola, 3rd place- Cecilia Larobis. This category is considered a route for the “hardcore”’.

Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas is also known as a Green Run, this, no disposables were used at the hydration stations and participants were required to bring their own provisions.
