WANDERLUST| Marco Polo Davao caps 18th year with associates party

THE ANNUAL associates party of the Marco Polo Davao was extra special as Davao’s first and only five star hotel is celebrating its 18th year in the industry.

At the dinner program, general manager Dottie Würgler-Cronin, sales and marketing director Pearl Peralta-Maclang, human resources director Malou Concepcion, along with other department heads led in welcoming the associates and guests inside the hotel’s grand ballroom.

The program’s most awaited portion was certainly the showcase of the associates’ dancing prowess where the group composed of the Housekeeping, Executive Office, Human Resource and Security departments emerged as this year’s champions. Coming in second was the team of the Sales and Marketing and RB&E Kitchen departments, followed by the RB&E Service and Finance departments, and the Front Office and Technical department teams. The participating teams moved and grooved to the music from three generations: Baby Boomers, Gen X and Millennials.

SPECIAL tribute to associates who have served Marco Polo Davao for 5, 10 and 15 years

Meanwhile, the evening’s Most Dazzling Female and Male awards were handed to Kathleen Trinidad of Front Office and Lawrence Ibarra of RB&E Service.

Halfway through the program, marketing communication officer Josef Ledesma, who celebrated his birthday on that same day, was given a surprise birthday number by the sales and marketing staff.

As the hotel turned into a “debutante”, it gave tribute to associates who have served Marco Polo Davao for 5, 10 and 15 years. They also held a very special tribute to their pioneering employees.

The program concluded with a heartwarming message of gratitude from Halifax Davao Hotel Inc. chairman Bienvenido A. Tan III and a congratulatory message from the founding chairman and now finance secretary Carlos G. Dominguez.

To our friends at Marco Polo Davao, happy 18th birthday and many, many more years to come!
