Wanderlust | Heineken opens Davao to the world

HEINEKEN, a top selling global brand on premium beers, finally made to it to the shores of Davao City as it officially launched its entry to Mindanao last Friday, June 22, at Aposento.

The party, dubbed as “Open Davao”, takes a cue from the Dutch beer brand’s famous tagline “Open Your World.”

“Heineken’s entry to the country was made possible by the joint venture of Asia Brewery and Heineken International,’ shared area sales manager Jimbo Sindao.

Sindao was joined by their Makati head office team, led by head of Sales Jan-Willem Paans, regional sales head Joseph Crisol, marketing head Rohit Sakhamuri, and brand manager Vera Pinera, along with the Davao team, led by market territory manager Kei Gaspar and fellow area sales manager Joel Castil.

Heineken, marketed as an affordable premium, boasts of the same consistent high quality in the 192 countries where it is available.

“It’s all natural, no sugar and starch. That’s why it’s least likely that it will give you hangover,” Sindao shared.

Along with Heineken, Asia Brewery has also brought to the country Tiger Black Beer, another product of Heineken Asia Pacific. The beer is categorized under the mainstream strong beer segment.

Manila’s DJ Euric and Davao’s top DJ Wacky Masbad, along with Cebu’s premier live acts Carlisle, .fc and Fonz provided world-class entertainment during the Davao launch.
