GOING to cinemas to watch movies or staying at home for a tele-marathon of your favorite series might soon become a thing of the past. Why go elsewhere when you can take them along with you? That is what iflix aims to do for the entertainment-loving Pinoys when it officially launched its service in the country last June 24 at the Green Sun in Makati City.

The launch was graced by no less than Glee star Heather Morris (who played Brittany S. Pierce in the recently concluded hit series) and hosted by Joey Mead King, Jason Godfrey, Marco Logregat and Bianca Valerio. iflix flew Morris in the country to help launch the video-on-demand and internet TV content provider, in partnership with two of the country’s biggest multimedia networks, PLDT Home and Smart Telecommunications. Some of the country’s top celebrities were also present to support the launch.

Touted as the country’s biggest library of entertainment content, iflix offers unlimited access to a wide range of movies, television series and shows from around the world. For a monthly fee of P99 for PLDT Home and Smart subscribers, and P129 for non-subscribers, Pinoys can now enjoy unlimited streaming from various international and local entertainment content providers. The service is free to PLDT Home Fibr and new Telpad subscribers.

In just a few clicks, this new service will allow Pinoy subscribers to access more than 11,000 hours of TV and movie entertainment from the best global content providers. To date, iflix has partnered with top Hollywood studios, such as The Walt Disney Company, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, BBC Worldwide, and Warner Bros.

To get started with iflix, users can register an account through iflix.com and receive a 14-day trial subscription. Once the trial expires, PLDT Home and Smart users will be able to subscribe iflix for only P99 per month. To use this iflix service on Android and iOS devices, users may download the iflix app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Currently, iflix is available in Malaysia and Philippines. Very soon, the service will also be launched in Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Thailand, Tokyo, and the United States. Additional photos courtesy of Rhonson Ng.
