JANUARY 28 was officially called #DavaoFunDay at the Davao Crocodile Park as it opened its newly constructed arena.

The 30 meter x 25 meter, 3,000 capacity arena is the new designated venue for the park’s live wildlife shows and educational exhibits.

“Aside from having a new venue, we have also upgraded our wildlife shows, which now feature natural wildlife behavior. We have it every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m.,” said marketing head Brent Marquez. The park also holds mini-shows daily at 10 a.m.

The wildlife show highlights the park’s feathered residents as well as Orange, the playful orangutan of Davao Crocodile Park, teaching the audience about environmental awareness and wildlife behavior.

The arena’s official launch was attended by the park’s chief operating officer Mervin Loseo, operations director Borj Borja, Human resource officer Sharon Joy Alves, development officer Chariz Luy, marketing assistant Jane Oquias, admin officer Ruby Vintanilla and Sally Valenzuela of the Mindanao Cacao Center.

As a treat, a free taste of their Mt Apo Civet Coffee, Mt Apo Wild Ripe Honey, Criollo Hot Chocolate and Chocolate de Mindanao were given to the first 100 park guests during the #DavaoFunDay.

Meanwhile, Mindanao Travel Channel managing director Pio Sto Domingo and Chef Yong Parado of the Riverwalk Exotic Grill at the park’s Tribu K’Mindanawan recently introduced and featured their latest exotic fares.

“New to the menu are our crispy crab legs, spicy frog, and fried pugo (quail),” Chef Yang said.

This is in addition to their other exotic delicacies, such as their deep fried octopus, octopus dinakdakan, crocodile sisig, and ostrich dishes.
