UM and IDP Education ink partnership deal for IELTS

THE UNIVERSITY of Mindanao (UM) and representatives from IDP Education – Philippines recently inked their formal partnership for the conducting of IELTS exams at the school.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the world’s leading testing system for people seeking work or residence in English-speaking countries, and IDP Education is the organization conducting the examinations in the Philippines.

While UM and IDP Education Philippines started their partnership to make UM as one of their testing centers in Davao, their first education institution partner in the country, the formalized signing of memorandum of agreement was held last March 9
with UM President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr.

IDP-IELTS Country Director, Ms. Ria Dela Vina, as well as UM Chief Academic Officer Dr. Pedro San Jose, AVP for Academics Dr. Ronnie Amorado, Dean of CASE Dr. Khristine Marie Concepcion, AVP for External Relations and International Affairs Office Mr. Reynaldo Castro, OIC of Institute of Languages Ms. Vanessa Cuesta; and IDP-IELTS Marketing Manager Mr. Mikhail Jao witnessed the formal signing of the organizations’ partnership.

In addition to UM being the first school certified as an IELTS testing venue, there are also plans to put up a UM IELTS review center. In fact, two Language faculty members have attended the IDP IELTS Trainers’ Program in Manila today in preparation for this next big endeavor.

The UM-IDP IELTS partnership is handled by the university’s Institute of Languages.

UM held its first IELTS exam last Feb. 16 at Bolton campus, with the next examination scheduled on March 25. The testing dates for the succeeding months will be on April 29, May 25 and June 24. For registration, go to
