Turkish sued for molesting girl, 18

A TURKISH national has been charged in court for allegedly sexually abusing an 18-year-old girl at Barangay Tacunan, Tugbok District.

Prosecutor Panfilo Lovitos indicted Ahmet Ozge Demir for violating the Republic Act 8353 (the Anti-Rape Law of 1997)

“Based on the evidence, this office finds probable cause to indict the respondent for rape…,” Lovitos said in the resolution.

Police arrested Demir on May 2 after he was complained by the victim, who claimed the foreigner abused her on April 30 at Deca Homes, Tacunan, Tugbok District.

Based on the police report, the complainant claimed she went to the house of the suspect looking for her friend. When she did not see her friend, she decided to leave. But the foreigner insisted that she should wait for her friend.

In her affidavit, she said that the respondent, with force and violence, kissed the complainant in the neck then sexually abused her.

However, Demir in his defense, denied the allegations.

The foreigner has been detained at the Tugbok Police Precinct.
