Trike driver nabbed for P.7M illegal drugs

Authorities seized some P750,000 worth of shabu from a tricycle driver who was said to be engaged in selling illegal drugs in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, Thursday.The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI identified the suspect as Aldrin Anta Bautista, 33, of Barangay Zone 1, Sta. Cruz, said to be a high value target.

The PDEA was aided by the Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station, and the 1104th Regional Mobile Force Battalion in the operation.

An undercover agent was able to buy P2,000 worth of shabu from the suspect at 5:10 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Tacub, Barangay Zone 1.

The agent immediately arrested the suspect.

During the search, operatives found a pack containing 50 grams of shabu, said to have a street value of P750,000.

The suspect is now detained at PDEA while a case for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is now being prepared.

Bautista denied owning the illegal drugs.
