Torres, Dureza, Ramirez head 30th GET ceremonial tee-off

Guillermo E. Torres (GET) Open golf tournament overall chairman Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr. along with Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez will head the dignitaries who will initiate the traditional ceremonial tee off on Sunday’s 30th GET Open at the Apo Golf and Country Club.

All three are set to tee-off at 10:30 a.m. to be joined by Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Pinol, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey, Presidential Assistant on Sports Glenn Y. Escandor, former Philippine Ambassador Bahnarim Guinomla, Region XI Office of Consular Affairs Ebrahim Zailon, LTO-XI Director Atty. Gomer Dy, LTO-XII Director Macario Gonzaga, Jose Periquet of Metropolitan Insurance, Al Barreto of Kar Asia, Boy Arriba of Ace Specs, Romy Noro of Motortrade and University of Mindanao Alumni Golf Association (UMAGA) President Ruben Erickson.

The traditional rites of the city’s longest running golf tournament to date will be prior to the 11 a.m. shotgun tee-off time. First shotgun tee-off is at 6 a.m.

Some 250 entries are seen to join the modified scoring system format tournament which allots a brand new Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan and one million pesos cash as hole-in-one prizes.

Registration fee which is ongoing is pegged at P2,000 per entry inclusive of a mulligan. Registration and payments are made available at the Apo Golf and Country Club and at the University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network (UMBN) office.

The Royal Mandaya Hotel Grand Ballroom will host the awarding ceremonies which will be that night at 6:30 p.m.
