Tan, Briones bag overall team title in RPV one-ball twosome tourney

Veteran parbusters Jing Tan and Addy Briones were crowned as this year’s Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club One-ball, Twosome tournament champs yesterday played at the all-weather course in nearby Mandug, this city.

The pair won via countback next to the duo of Jong and Boy Tan after both teams tallied similar 70s.

EJ Casintahan and Patrick Cruz also made their presence felt after winning the Division I net title with 69 while Koreans Han Duk Gi and Kim Tae Jung brought home the Division II net crown on a countback against Philip Hazlewood and Vic Gonzales after both submitted 71s.

In Division III, Manny Tesoro and Fred Tatad had 72 for the net champion leaving past the pair of Walter Thalahammer and Joe Lafuente the runner-up with 73.

Special designed trophies were given to the winners in grand rites after the games.
