Suspect sued after drug bust

A 35-YEAR-OLD man who was sued by the police once before is in hot water anew after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Executive Homes, Matina Aplaya on Tuesday afternoon.

Glenn Gonzaga, resident of Deca Homes in Mintal, was sued for violation of Sec. 5 (selling of illegal drugs), Sec. 11 (possession of illegal drugs), and Sec. 12 (possession of illegal drugs paraphernalia) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Chief Insp. Ronald Lao, Toril police commander, said Gonzaga had a criminal complaint five years ago for a similar offense but was dismissed due to lack of probable cause.

According to the police report, the drug bust was conducted against Gonzaga on the tip from a concerned citizen. He was arrested after receiving the marked money from an undercover cop.

The operation was conducted at 1:15 p.m. where the operatives recovered two sachets of illegal drugs with a total of P30,000 in street value, along with several drug paraphernalia.

Gonzaga is now temporarily held at Toril Police Precinct while his case is being handled by Prosecutor Maria Cynthia Prat.
