Suspect in illegal drugs nabbed in Davao Occ.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao Occidental arrested an alleged suspect of illegal drugs during an operation in Barangay Balangunan, Jose Abad Santos Tuesday afternoon.

Antonio Rivera, PDEA XI director, identified the suspect, considered among the most wanted in the region, Jimmy Mansur, 40 , married, farmer and a resident of the place.

Rivera said a PDEA agent collared Mansur after the former, posing as buyer, sold to him the suspect about a kilogram of marijuana worth P10, 000.

He added that the suspect also yielded about 10 grams of shabu with a street value of P 68,000.00, and the marked money used in the operation.

“He (Mansur) is also one of the big time and elusive drug perpetrators operating in Davao Region,” he added, claiming that the suspect was ninth in the top 10 list of the most wanted in illegal drugs in the region.

Also assisting the operations were members of the Davao Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Supt. Samson Kimayong, Provincial Intelligence Branch of Davao Occidental Police Provincial Office led by Chief Insp. Darwin Taypin , Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit led by Sr. Insp. Ricky Fornolles , Davao Occidental Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Sr. Insp. Nelson Violan, Jose Abad Santos Municipal Police Station led by Chief Insp. De Quincio Pante and 72nd IB and 73rd IB led by Corporal Weisen Redvan.

Mansur has been temporarily detained at the PDEA XI detention facility, while those contrabands that were seized from him and other evidence were submitted to the laboratory for examination.

The cases for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were still being prepared against him as of press time.
