Student, call center agent, two others nabbed in bust

FOUR suspected drug pushers, including a college student and a call center agent, were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations conducted by agents of Sta. Ana Police Precinct on Saturday.

Chief Insp. Hamlet Lerios, the precinct commander, identified the arrested suspects as Janssen David Tan, Benjamin Lao Santos, Christian Mark Fernandez Cristobal, and Wendell Estose Gaviola.

Tan, a 31-year-old call center agent who resides in Aklan Street, Barangay 26-C (part of Chinatown area in Poblacion District), was the first to fall on Saturday.

Tan allegedly sold one sachet of shabu to an operative who acted as a buyer during the operation near his house at 5:10 p.m.

Further seized from him was another sachet of shabu.

In a separate operation within that time, 25-year-old Santos, single and jobless, was arrested in Purok 6, Trading Boulevard area of Barangay 39-D, Poblacion District.

Santos sold one sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange of P500. Further seized from him were three sachets of shabu.

At 5:45 p.m. of that day, Cristobal, 21, a college student, was busted in another operation in front of a convenience store in Padre Gomez Street, Barangay 34-D, Poblacion District.

Cristobal, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) student of University of Immaculate Concepcion (UIC), reportedly handed over a one sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Upon searching, another four sachets of shabu were seized in his possession.

Wendell Estose Gaviola, a 35-year-old PUJ of Km. 13 in Barangay Panacan, Bunawan District, was also arrested in another operation conducted in C.M. Recto Street, Barangay 35-D, Poblacion District at around 7:30 p.m.

Seized from the suspect was a sachet of shabu.

The suspects are now detained at the detention cell of

Sta. Ana Police Precinct pending the filing of appropriate charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
