Strange sea creature found in Samal Island

Minutes before a tectonic quake with 6.4 magnitude hit Davao region on Saturday, a mysterious purple-color sea creature was washed up on the shore of Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte.

While enjoying a family bonding at Alta Vista Beach Resort, Andrea Asturias found the unusual creature with jelly-like tentacles at the shore around 3:20 p.m. Saturday.

Ten minutes later, an earthquake hit the area.

But Dr. Fatma Idris, the regional director of BFAR XI, dismissed the connection of the sea creature to the quake.

The creature is about 16 to 20 inches and described as “very rare” by one of the caretakers of the resort.
