Mayor to deliver speech focusing on her Byaheng Do30 campaign

MAYOR Sara Duterte-Carpio is set to deliver today her first State of the City Address.

City Information Officer Jefry Tupas, in an interview, said Duterte will be speaking on the updates of her administration’s Byaheng Do30 campaign.

Byaheng Do30 revolves around the 30 major program and projects under 10 the key priorities of her administration.

These include poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, solid waste management, transportation planning and traffic management, health, education, peace and order, agriculture, disaster risk reduction and mitigation, and tourism.

 Tupas said Duterte herself wrote the 17-page long speech.

 The speech is scheduled to be delivered this morning at the session hall of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, in front of Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, city councilors, as well as department heads and other guests.

 Yesterday, arrangements were already made at the SP building for the activity, with information technology (IT) personnel improving the connectivity and preparing the audio visual needs for the scheduled speech.

 SP administrators said they will be clearing out the Sanggunian steps.

 The San Pedro side of the building will be closed to the public as official guests are only allowed to enter at the façade.

 The public, particularly those clients transacting business with government offices inside the SP building, are only allowed to enter and exit at the Magallanes Street side of the building.

 The SP building holds offices like City Business Bureau, City Treasurer, Local Civil Registrar and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affair.

 Vendors are also temporarily cleared from the San Pedro side for today’s activity.
