Southpoint School reaches semis of Thirsty Cup Soccer Tourney in Cebu

THE SOUTHPOINT School of Davao City made a strong impact in the just concluded Thirsty Cup soccer tournament in Cebu City last February 21-22.

The six and under division of the Barangay Maa-based school lead by Jian Goyonan and Yuan Guingguing was able to reach the semifinals of the prestigious soccer tournament participated in by some of the top soccer schools in the Philippines.

Despite not reaching the finals, the Southpoint school was still happy with their performance since they were able to get five wins in the tournament including the powerhouse Cebu soccer team Don Bosco University.

Southpoint eight and under division for its part led by defender Bob Benedict Braceros and striker Carl Sumampong also played well in the tournament by reaching the quarterfinals.

Southpoint, one of the top soccer schools in Davao City, earlier decided to join the tournament to gain experience and to measure the growth of the soccer program of the school.
