Solido FC bags 1st Masters Cup bootfest

MULTI-TITLED Solido Football Club added another title to its cabinet of championships this time winning the first Masters Cup Men’s 35-above Championships played last September 9 and 10 at the Tionko grounds.

Anchored by playing team captain Buboy Arrieta, Solido Football Club nipped PNP FC Tagum, 2-0 in the finals enroute to this year’s crown.

Solido FC which is now celebrating 15 years of football paraded its members composed of Kokoi Arrieta, Pablo Garcia, Jay Miguel, Chuck Tabamo, Richard Moltellero, Matthew Mark Descallar, Walter Villacencio, Ramir Ashid and Deo Dagatan.

Its clean slate going to the finals include a 4-1 victory over Angkols FC and a 1-0 win over FilChi FC during the eliminations. A 4-0 tap on M7-Crocs FC during the semifinals which had them a finals ticket footnoted highlights moves coming from Kokoi Arrieta and a hatrick goal from Pablo Garcia coming from a pass off Jay Miguel.

M7-Crocs FC settled for third place in the two-day tournament which saw five squads competing.

“We will continue to grow in friendship and football as that’s how we were formed and hopefully influenced the younger generation that you’re never too old to play the beautiful game,” said Arrieta who also thanked their sponsors Sea Green Café and Boutique Rooms, CEL Logistics, Doc Bayani, Animal Wellness Center, Instatech and Adnow Billboards.
