SM Davao, NCIP collect school supplies for IPs

SM City Davao, in celebration of the Philippine Independence Day will be accepting donated brand new pencils and other school supplies from its shoppers until June 12.

The collected items will benefit National Commission on Indigenous People XI’s “Tabang Pa-Eskwela sa Tribo” project. In 2016, NCIP XI was able to serve a total of 4800 IP school children all over the region, helping the schoolchildren in far-flung communities.

Apart from the school supplies drive, the mall also highlights the King of the Road in its center piece– a Filipino icon, symbolizing Filipino ingenuity and pride.

JuanDer Art Festival showcases Davao talents in a painting competition on June 12. Ten artists will be tasked to paint a miniature metal-chrome jeepney from Kultura, depicting the theme “Byaheng Mindanao”.  Best entry wins P5,000 worth of gift certificates. Second and third placers get P3,000 and P2,000 worth of gift certificates, respectively.

Shoppers can enjoy special discounts from Artwork, St. Paul’s, Oryspa, People are People, Broadway Gems, Onesimus, Pabder Oumo and Lourmon Garden on Monday for the Pinoy Sale. Mall-goers may also feast on Filipino treats from Hukad, Blackbeard’s Seafood Island, Pizza Hut and Shakey’s, as well as Mr Crab and Prawn and Fiesta Dabaw at the Foodcourt.
