Skynora co-working spaces launched

A FIRM is challenging a parallel demand for office spaces by offering work areas on a seat-leasing basis.

This, as Skynora formally launched their premium office spaces at an investors and media event held at the Marco Polo Davao, Monday night.

Asaad Qureshi, chief executive officer of Skynora said that the company is taking advantage of a market gap for commercial offices by offering an inclusive setup promising to be a cost-effective alternative to office spaces.

Among its amenities is a per-head payment system instead of floor space.

This means that even freelancers and smaller startups can have workplaces that require minimal overheads, especially in terms of office space.

Potential clients have been on the hunt for office spaces in areas such as office areas along JP Laurel Ave., Qureshi said.

On the part of Skynora, as a former investor, Qureshi said that the city could take the lead in redefining the office space.

“Davao City is ready for more businesses to make it their home,” Qureshi said.

The company offers seat-leasing, coworking spaces, and private offices at a 4,500 square meter building along JP Laurel Ave.

Prime Philippines, in a primer released to reporters, said that there was also a rise in demand for office spaces.

“As the ICT-BPO industry matures in Davao City, demand for office spaces has started to pick up. Around 65,000 sqare meters of office spaces is currently until 2019, almost 85% of which are from major developers, namely, Robinsons Land Corp. and Megaworld Corp, according to Prime,” the firm said.

“As 2017 ends, 9% of Grade A office spaces has already been occupied by a large scale BPO tenant in Bajada-Lanang strip,” it added.

“Around 5% of grade B buildings, meanwhile, has been taken by some medium-scale businesses also along the Bajada-Lanang strip.”

In total, around 8% of the preleased office spaces has been occupied already in 2017.

At 491 seats of co-working spaces in the five-story building, Skynora aims to cater to business process outsourcing offices, among others.

Skynora is located at the fourth and fifth floor of the Cybergate Delta Building.

Qureshi added that the company will ensure stable internet connections for its lessees, as well as security and amenities such as shared pantries and customized offices.

He said that the company is inviting freelancers, fresh graduates, doctors, nurses, lawyers, students, among others to try their spaces.

Qureshi added that the company was aiming to take advantage of the potentials of the city as a location for businesses that want to have a base here, either from Metro Manila or brands coming from different locations around the world.
