Shabu yielded in checkpoint

AUTHORITIES arrested three suspected drug players at the Task Force Davao checkpoint in Barangay Licanan, Bunawan District on Thursday.

First to fall at 1:50 a.m. were identified by the Bunawan Police Precinct as Irish Jane Moring, 24, of Gen. Malvar, Barangay 7-A, Poblacion District, and Renal Ibañez Asoque, 30, of Barangay Matinao, Mati City, Davao Oriental. Confiscated from them was a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.02 grams.

Hours later, Reddic Villanueva Domingo, 29, of Purok 4, Bunaply, Bunawan was also caught for bringing a sachet of shabu weighing 0.5 gram, an improvised glass tube and P500 money.

The team was composed of Bunawan Police Precinct, led by its commander Chief Insp. Jesus Castañeda, and Task Force Davao, led by Lt. Col. Danny Bustamante.

The three are now under the custody of Bunawan Police Precinct, pending the filing of the proper charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) filed drug cases before the prosecution office against three men separately arrested on Monday.

Facing charges are identified as Brent Banaag, Sonny Boy Anajao and Shaquille Jeroko Dumbrique.

Banaag was charged for selling and possessing drugs. Anajao was charged for selling drugs, while Jeroko was sued for carrying drugs.

Banaag was arrested at 2:45 p.m. at Agdao Beach Village, Barangay San Antonio, Agdao District for allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to an undercover PDEA agent who acted as a pusher buyer.

PDEA agents also recovered in his possession two sachets of suspected shabu.

On the same day, Anajao was arrested in Block 4, Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Agdao District for selling a sachet of suspected shabu amounting to P1,000 to an undercover PDEA agent.

Dumbrique, on the other hand, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. in Metro Station Bar located at Bajada Avenue for possession of marijuana. Seized from him was a resealable plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruit tops.
