Scene City | Soroptimist International of Davao installs new officers

TWO years or a biennium may be a long and tiresome period of time to serve an organization. Being an elected president is a challenge to face at the start, but along the way, as days unfold and tasks are accomplished one by one, the days become too short.

The once gigantic tasks are accomplished with the help of other officers who perform along with the leader, the President of the organization.

As the two years from 2018-2018 came to an end and new officers were inducted into office, a sense of fulfillment was felt, especially by the president herself and the board members. Last Saturday, June 02, the event of turning over the gavel to the new president of SI Davao took place. As outgoing president Dr. Teresita C. Borillo said in her Valedictory Speech, she was reluctant to hold the reins of the organization, challenged by obstacles to perform the duties expected of her. SI Davao’s many tasks include the search for candidates for the “Live your Dream” Project, “Unsung Heroes”, the Cancer Detection Center, attending meetings of the Anti-Trafficking Task Force” participating in Women’s Day activities among many others. At the end of the day, SI Davao received the Outstanding Club Award and Dr. Tess C. Borillo was given the “Outstanding Leadership Award”, proving that her fears when she assumed her presidency were overcome and that she did her best to accomplish what was expected of her as a leader.
