SCENE CITY| Portraits for mothers and family at Waterfront

CELEBRATING Mother’s Day is always a special occasion for mother and her loved ones, giving a once-a-yeartreat for the lady of the house. This year, Waterfront Davao Insular Hotel gave Mother’s Day a deeper meaning by featuring a spectacular buffet and partnered with artists from Tabula Rasa to do portraits of her and her family.

Last Sunday, May 14, Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao honored mothers in heartwarming fashion as the premier hotel offered a culinary tribute to mothers and a colorful, memorable activity for the family.

Café Uno’s buffet service all set for Mother’s Day

Executive chef Victor Barangan’s Mother’s Day treat at Café Uno featured a generous spread of entrees such as Batangas coffee chicken, fried fish curry and beef shawarma, as well as special offerings of lechon and roast beef.

The dessert extravaganza included a black forest cake, chocolate rhum balls and pastry chef Roche Audeji’s featured apple pie cake. This soft, moist cake recipe sprinkled with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, fresh apple pie filling and butter cream frosting has been carefully handcrafted and rolled out from one table to another to perfect every guest’s dining experience.

Culinary treats aside, the hotel also hosted a live sketching session in partnership with the Tabula Rasa Artists of Davao. Dining guests were invited to have their solo or family portraits to remember the day by.
