Pia is a 2017 Team Philippines official delegate under the leadership of Gerry Mercado, the country manager who oversaw the scouting and audition process.

Pia started taking ballet lessons at age three at the Royeca School of Ballet and has since joined and never missed any of the yearly recitals.

In the last 15 years in the ballet world, Pia danced lead roles as Clara and Sugar Plum Fairy in the Immortal Christmas Ballet “The Nutcracker,” as fairy godmother in Cinderella, as Beauty in Beauty and the Beast, just to name a few and all under the choreography of Gregory Aaron and Nicolas Pacaña.

Her career in ballet includes participation in the 2014 Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition and Yi Lei Cai International Ballet competition both held in Hong Kong; she was invited as guest to perform in Blue Charity Damce Concert by Crestar Learning Center for Penang Down Syndrome Association, held in Penang, Malaysia in October 2012.

Her pursuit in the mastery of ballet inspired her to attend and complete a Masterclass with Mancopy, a contemporary Ballet Workshop with Jens Bjerregaard & Mancopy Dansekompagni on Jan. 3-4, 2015 Aliw Theater, in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

More chances to achieve perfection in her craft came when she participated in Dance.MNL MASTER CLASS under prima ballerina Ms. Lisa Macuja Elizalde from June 14 to 25, 2016 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), is often cited as the one and only “official World Talent championship.” Celebrating its 21st successful year, it is the only premier international talent and modeling competition of its kind annually held in the “Hollywood” area. Similar to the Olympics, only those invited and qualified competitors representing countries compete each year in a fierce competition “to be the best of the best!”

Pia Romo is a hardworking ballet student, and has become a passionate dancer through the years in the ballet world.

She is the daughter of Dra. Dothie Romo and Notnot Romo. She is 18 years old and a Grade 12 Senior High School Student at the Ateneo de Davao University.
