SCENE CITY| Pat Montemayor celebrates birthday with Soroptimists

HAVING been Federation President of the Soroptimist International of the Philippines, Tita Pat’s heart is close to the members and officers of the Soroptimist International of Davao. Civic-spirited as she is, she is always there to support projects for women and girls which is the thrust of the organization.

January 28, 2015, Tita Pat hosted lunch at Villa Margarita which coincided with the monthly General Membership Meeting. It was also time to gather the members for a group picture for the club.

Tita Pat’s late husband, Bobby Montemayor, wrote a column for several years which was published regularly in Mindanao Times. His blindness did not hamper his ability to express his thoughts and ideas for the good of the community, even if he had to dictate his ideas to his secretary.

The Soroptimists enjoy the support of Tita Pat and appreciate her presence in meetings. The contributions she has made became landmark projects for Davao City, Mindanao and even outside the Philippines, since the Soroptimist is an international organization focusing on the welfare of women and girls throughout the world.

Her 87th birthday is another blessing for her family and friends who know she will continue doing what she has loved to do: give support to those in need in the community and those she dearly loves, because she feels loved by everyone around her.
