SCENE CITY| NCCC joins Davao City on the 32nd Kadayawan Festival

IT’S THE  “King of All Festivals” and the celebration is in full swing. Dabawenos are in revelry from morning till midnight, joining the much-awaited festival honoring the eleven tribes in Davao City.

The malls have joined the celebration with food trips, health events and stars which are major crowd-drawers.

Staring with the KFood Festival on August 18 at NCCC Mall Davao Supermarket area, shoppers need not fly to Seoul to taste and experience the best of Korea. They can immerse themselves in trying and learning traditional Korean games, cooking techniques and tasting their food. Kpop fanatics may even indulge in some authentic items since the supermarket has a special lane for Korean products.

A medical caravan by HB1 Pharmacy is happening on August 19. From 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the activity center. Dabawenyos will have free access to different medical and wellness services including consultation, FBS, eye check-up, dental services and healthy food samples.

At 4:00 PM, stars will entertain the fans in Kasadya ug Musika sa Kadayawan, featuring Dominic Roque, Albie Casino and RK Bagatsing. Both Roque and Casino appeared in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano while Bagatsing currently stars in Wildflower opposite Maja Salvador as the infamous Mr. Mayor. Also performing is Davao’s own and the very first The Voice Teens grand winner, Jona Soquite.

 NCCC  Mall Davao showcases Davao’s rich culture and heritage with Sayaw ng Kulturang Pilipino inter-school Competition on August 20 at 1:00 PM.  Fifteen private and public elementary schools will compete to bag the P10 thousand first prize while the second and third runners-u[ will receive P5 thousand and P3 thousand respectively.

ON the same dau, the lead stars of “100 Tula Para Kay Stella”, Bela Padilla and JC Santos will bring entertainment to Dabawenyos. The film, featured in Pista ng Pelikulang, Pilipino is about a stuttering college student who writes 100 poems for Stella, the university rock personality. Joining Padilla and Santos is The Voice Teens semi-finalist, Chan Millanes. The show stars at 4:00 PM.

Audience of Kasadya uf Musika sa Kadayawan will get the chance to take home cinema tickets or NCCC gift cards. NCCC Department Store and Hardware items are on Kadayawan sale until August 20.
