SCENE CITY| Music fills the night for Mary Ann @ 65

CLASSICAL music, Kundiman and Popular favorites from piano, violin, voices from singers rang out and filled the night at the Ladislawa Garden Village Clubhouse on October 30, 2016. It was the 65th birthday celebration of Mary Ann T. Kimpo, Soprano, and the recital of Pianist-Tenor-Voice Coach Rogerbertz Goleng Jr. and Classical Violinist from Poland Robert Stormowski.

Gracing the occasion was Mary Ann’s family, the Ladislawa Ageless Society and the Davao Chamber Singers.

MOON River and Hymne al Amour with Rogerbert Goleng, Jr., Robert Stormowski, Davao Chamber Singer

Among the musical numbers were “O Sole Mio”by Eduardo de Capua, and “Because” by Hardelot sang by Tenor Rogerbertz Goleng, Jr., “Nessum Dorma by Giacomo Puccini; “Moon River” by Henry Mancini, “Hymne a l’Amour “ by Constantine-Monnot, “Ang Maya” by Jose Estella, numbers by Mary Ann with Stormowsky and Goleng, Jr. with the Davao Chamber Singers. A Duet, “Pakiusap”, was performed and classical numbers on the piano and violin, “Czardas”, “Romance”, and a Mazurka. The Davao Chamber Singers sang “Christmas Canticle” and other Christmas songs to greet the yuletide season.

MARY Ann sings, Glitter and be Gay.

A fun song “Glitter and be Gay” was the final number by Mary Ann. It is from the Broadway Operetta “Candide” by Voltaire, music by Leonard Bernstein, who also composed the songs in the musical “West Side Story”.
