SCENE CITY| Keepsakes opens third resto

EVEN during its “soft opening” patrons of this cozy eatery were peeping through its glass doors to see if it had already accepted customers who had tried this eatery.

“Keepsakes” has grown to be a familiar meeting place of students, office workers, walk-ins from nearby places since it opened at MTS in Matina. It opened its second branch at the Sta. Ana area near the GMall where students flock almost all hours of the day during their break from classes.

On September 23, 2016, its third branch finally opened. Engr. Ed and Sally Leuenberger invited us for early mass at St. Jude Parish Church and breakfast at Keepsakes. Ed and Kim Leuenberger, who manage the restaurant were busy at the kitchen taking customers’ orders.

As we recalled the divisions of the restaurant in the Sta. Ana branch of “Keepsakes”, we were also amused at the collection of souvenirs from abroad, their old house, pieces of furniture and even an old refrigerator door used by the family, a carved wooden door to serve as partition of the eatery.

Such ingenious creativity by the members of the Leuenberger family and the food served at Keepsakes will surely draw everyone to this place. Not only that, Ed Leuenberger also thought of providing a coffee machine that will compete with the best coffee bars in town, because after a meal, customers usually go someplace for coffee. And when friends decide to have a chat, they go to a place or diner that serves good coffee.

As we looked up, we saw the hanging lamps from the ceiling which we thought were very interesting, we even asked where they purchased those and thought of buying for our own.

Keepsakes branch III is at the corner of Mt. Apo and Mayon Sts., just a few steps away from St. Jude Church in Malvar, the Davao Doctors Hospital, to name some landmarks.
