Scene City | Dusit 2 makes its way to the south

After making our way in a van from the Davao City downtown area and boarding a speedboat at the shoreline of Barangay Pindasan to cross to the luxurious island, Lubi Plantation, we were met with a cool, refreshing welcome drink of buko and cucumber. Chai Abaya from Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation was our gracious guide to the site of dusit2Davao, a 120-room hotel soon to rise in the area that perfectly blends urban living with the finest hotel amenities and will feature exciting all day dining outlets such as the SALA, an interactive multi-street cuisine inspired by a community to bring a fun, vibrant dining experience.3 Over the last 65 years, Dusit has been synonymous to world-class service and gastronomy deeply rooted in the Thai culture. From the authentic dishes of Thailand to the fine cuisine from different parts of the globe, the hotel brand promises Davao-based foodies dining experiences made more enjoyable with the warmth of Thai hospitality. 2 Joining us for the ‘meet-and-greet’ event were Mr. Lim Boon Kwee, chief operating officer of Dusit International based in the company’s Bangkok headquarters; Thomas Pfordte, group director of Food and Beverage, Operations, Dusit International; Christopher Wichlan, general manager, Dusit Thani Residences Davao; Claire del Rosario Bernabe – director of sales & marketing. Dusit2 Davao is just 10-kilometer ride from the Davao International Airport, with accessibility to the SMX Convention Center and malls. (photos by Kenneth Ong & Vanessa Mabini) 6
