Scene City | Christian Villa-Abrille Cipriano: The boy with a heart for charity

ONLY 18 years old, Christian Villa-Abrille Cipriano is an only child of Gaetano Cipriano, an Italian-American, and Christine Mae Villa-Abrille, who traces her roots in Davao City, Philippines.

Christian, a young man from Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA, is in the country not just for a vacation. He has come to do charity work in Davao City. Christian chose Cesareo Villa-Abrille Elementary School as beneficiary because the school stands on a piece of land that his forebears had donated in 1949 in Barangay 76-A, Bucana, Davao City.

His mother Christine Mae, a registered nurse, is the eldest daughter of Pedro Villa-Abrille, youngest brother of lawyer Nonoy Villa-Abrille. That makes Christian a great grandson of Don Cesareo Villa-Abrille, under whose name a school has been built in his honor.

With a heart for charity, Christian wants to make sure that the pupils from Kinder to Grade 6 will get the basic educational supplies when he starts implementing the project after this program.

When Christian flies back to the USA on July 18, he promises to continue helping the school by undertaking another school project for CVAES. While he is away, Christian will start gathering books, which he will eventually ship to Davao City.

Right now, Christian attends College Academy at Broward County. He is in now in Grade 12. In senior high school, he was also accepted to enter as full time college student. So when he graduates from high school, he will, at the same time, also graduate from college with an associate degree.
Out of 10,000 high school students in Broward County, he is one of the 175 students chosen to attend this advance program.

It is admirable to see a young man, living in a country of plenty, to think and be concerned about the plight of schoolchildren in a third world nation.

Inspired, he has one big dream, though. When he leaves school, he dreams to raise more money so he can continue to do bigger charity work like what his great grandpa has done.
