Scene City | Cheers to the Scholars

DAYS after their graduation, moving up, and recognition day activities and celebrations, Don Cesareo Villa-Abrille Foundation hosted on April 15, Sunday, a thanksgiving luncheon for their highly spirited scholars from the Holy Cross of Davao College and their proud parents at the Grand Emerald Seafood Restaurant, Victoria Plaza, this city.The 10 scholars who attended, including new scholars KC Nicole Pacturan and Cindy Mejorada, Six-Graders with highest honors from Cesareo Villa-Abrille Elementary School in Bucana, and their parents were warmly welcomed to the reception by Foundation Chair Leoncio Villa-Abrille and sisters Jesusita and Leticia VA Corpus.

After the invocation by Michael Marc Cabueñas, Holy Cross of Davao High School Principal, Dr. Jean Legaspi, and Master Teacher Agustina de la Cruz, representative of Cesareo Villa-Abrille School principal, Dr. Jean Colango, delivered an inspirational message.

Bianca Jessette Ang, Marianne Puno, Michael Cabueñas and Chabe Bernales earned high honors while those with honors were Alexandra Mae Domogho, Ella Apuya, and Orpheus Linaza Jr.

Over lunch, new scholars Pacturan and Mejorada expressed their gratefulness to their benefactor and promised to study at Holy Cross with dedication and commitment.

A department awardee for her exemplary behavior and service to the school and community, Ms. Bernales was also an outstanding club officer of the Commentators and Lectors Club.

Earning a college scholarship from the Villa-Abrille Foundation to study civil engineering at the USEP is Bernales’ biggest achievement as Grade 12 graduate.

Cabueñas, an active YMCA Volunteer and Scholar since SY 2013-2014, will continue as YMCA Davao – Villa-Abrille Scholar to complete his Senior High School at Holy Cross of Davao.
