SCENE CITY| Asian Fruit Market opens in Davao

ENVISIONED to be Asia’s biggest fruit market, Davao City, home of delicious tropical fruits opened the Asian Fruit Market on Saturday, June 24, 2016. According to Tourism Assistant Secretary Art P. Boncato, the idea came from Tourism Secretary, as the secretary was asking Art, what is in Davao that tourists would like to bring home with them. What came to his mind was the bountiful harvest of Pomelo, Durian, Marang, Mangosteen, Mango, Rambutan and other fruits which most of the tourists brought with them to their destination or on their homebound trips as “pasalubong” or giveaways to friends.
