Scene City | Anvil Business Club inducts officers in Davao City

DAVAO City Mayor Sarah Duterte-Carpio was the inducting officer for the Association of Young Filipino-Chinese Entrepreneurs (Anvil) held in Davao City on June 20, 2018.

The Anvil Business Club, Inc. is an organization of young Chinese-Filipino businessmen and professionals, ages 21 to 50, and committed to propagate positive values in promoting a healthy economy, progressive society and pursuing excellence in their respective fields of endeavor, for the economic and social progress of the country.
Anvil seeks to broaden the horizon of its members through interaction with all types of people, by touring local and international plants, agricultural estates, factories, retail sites, trade fairs and institutions.
At the core of its corporate heart are also the club’s civic projects. Members try to give back to the community through regular calamity assistance, medical missions, skills and attitude programs, livelihood enhancements, even researches into history and sponsoring scholarships and education projects.
One-hundred officers of Anvil Business Club flew to Davao City for the induction ceremony at the Marco Polo Davao. This is the first time in the organization’s 27 years history for its induction to be held outside Metro Manila. Anvil has 450 members.
Patrick Cua is the president of Anvil Business Club. Wilson Lee Flores, chairman of Anvil Business Club, introduced Mayor Sara Duterte as the keynote speaker.
The 100 entrepreneurs of Anvil believe that Davao City symbolizes the great economic future of the Philippines, and want to encourage more young entrepreneurs to study economic opportunities and invest outside Metro Manila especially in resource-rich Mindanao. (Photos: Joey Sem Dalumpines-PIA XI)
