SCENE CITY| AirAsia launches new flights

AIRASIA has increased connectivity to Boracay, Palawan, Davao, Cebu and Clark and began servicing its new routes on April 22, 2017.

AirAsia, the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier inaugurated its first Davao to Cebu flight which took off from the Francisco Bangoy International Airport with Philippines AirAsia Director of Flight Operations Captain Gomer Monreal as operating pilot assisted by Captain Bernardino Perez and Flight Officer Leonardo Orendain. “AirAsia officially welcomes summer with the new and increased connectivity from Davao and Cebu to Boracay and Palawan and onto the Northern Part of the Philippines via Clark International Airport”. Captain Monreal said at the send-off ceremonies held at Davao International Airport.

Aside from the twice daily flights between Davao and Cebu, AirAsia also formally opened daily flights from Davao to Boracay; to Palawan at thrice weekly and to Clark at four times weekly using Airbus A320s or jets which can accommodate up to 180 guests per flight. AirAsia also maintains three times daily flights between Manila and Davao.

Officials from the Department of Tourism in Davao City, CAAP, City Tourism Operations Office and local hotel and tourism partners joined the send-off celebration.

Also attending the send-off was Benjie Lizada of Visit Davao Fun Sale. Davao City Councilor April Dayap read the speech of City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.
