PANABO, a booming city in Davao del Norte, has introduced a new kind of development that will hold residential, commercial and institutional components in one area.

With progressive agriculture at the heart of this modern agropolis (agricultural metropolis), Agriya breathes new life into the Davao Region.

Groundbreaking for Agriya’s mixed-used development took place with the simultaneous groundbreaking of the project for the Public-Private Partnership with the University of the Philippines Professional School for Agriculture and Environment (UP PSAE), ANFLOCOR and Damosa Land held on Wednesday. ANFLOCOR will be donating a total of 31,896.65 meters as well as infrastructure.

Agriya also promises to bring back the fun and interest in farming at the Farming Zone and will be featuring a working banana farm which will include edible and ornamental varieties. Guests will get to see how bananas are grown from start to finish. A high-value crops farm will showcase a variety of vegetables grown in a farm and used as well as part of edible landscaping. Fruit-bearing trees like pomelo and mangosteen will also be planted. Fresh produce will be available to the surrounding communities with a Farmer’s Stand located in the area.

The Agriya Residential Area is designed by Architect John Alegado and is expected to begin development early third quarter of this year.

Within a commercial arcade, an affordable boutique hotel concept will service domestic and foreign tourists. Other areas within the commercial arcade include a church, boating lagoon, jogging paths, bike paths, picnic areas, open parks and gardens.

“Naturetainment” capitalizes on the agricultural heritage of Mindanao. There will be interactive activities on sustainable farming, endemic and edible fauna integrated in the landscape and promoting these practices in the everyday lives of tourists and guests.

An Activity Zone will include a Giant Swing, Earth Mound and Nature Playground and Aerial Walk, expected to be operational early 2018. Over a span of two years, the Activity Zone will introduce the Roller Coaster, Zipline, Mountain Tubing and Adventure Tower for Rock Climbing, Rappelling and Free Fall Activities.

Distance from Agriya to Anflo Industrial Estate & Davao International Container Terminal, also located in Panabo, is just five kilometers away.

Panabo City is approximately 32 kilometers (45 minutes) from Davao City and 28 kilometers (30 minutes) from the provincial capital of Tagum City.
