He was the leader of Ansar Khilafa Philippines, Sarangani, Southerrn Philippines, which is involved in several killings, robbery/hold-ups, harassments and extortion activities in the areas of Sarangani, General Santos City and Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.

He was also ranked one as the most wanted persons in Sarangani province.

He  has a standing warrant of arrest for murder (2 counts), destructive arson, arson robbery with violence and/or intimidation of person, and murder with criminal cases 3043-08, 3044-08, 3045-08, 3046-08, 3047-08, 3048-08, and 144381-TG issued by RTC Branch 38 of Alabel, Sarangani and RTC NCJR, Branch 271 of Pasig City.

Moreover, Maguid also had a P300,000 bounty on his head.

“He and his group had escaped several government operations to neutralize them,” Train said. “He tried to escape but we caught up with him.”

The arrested suspects were identified as Matahata Dialawe Arboleda, Ismael Sahak alias Mael, and Morhaban Veloso alias Bugoy. They served as bodyguards and security of Maguid at the time they were arrested.

The suspects were on board a red Toyota Wigo with temporary license plate 12190176.

They were apprehended by the joint operation conducted by PRO XII, Regional Public Safety Battalion, Sarangani police’s intelligence branch and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency and Kiamba Municipal Police Station.

Recovered from the suspects were two Baby Armalite rifles and a hand grenade.

Train said the operation was conducted after an informant tipped them of the group’s presence at the resort.

He was thankful to the community for providing relevant information leading to the neutralization of Maguid.

He  also commend those PNP personnel involved in the operation for their steadfast dedication and untiring effort to bring peace in the region by neutralizing the top most wanted person in Region 12.

According to the report, Maguid, who bolted from the Sarangani provincial jail in 2010, is facing at least 15 arrest warrants issued by various local courts since 2008.

He is facing multiple counts of murder, attempted murder, frustrated murder, robbery with violence, robbery with homicide, destructive arson and arson, filed at the Regional Trial Court Branches 11 and 38 in Alabel, Sarangani.

Authorities tagged Maguid’s group as behind the planting of an improvised explosive in December at a Christmas display in front of the Kiamba municipal hall.

Joint operatives seized suspected bomb-making materials at his house in Barangay Daliao in Maasim town in October last year.

In August, SAF operatives killed three alleged members of the Ansar Al-Khilafah, which had pledged support to the ISIS, in an operation in upper Sitio Lebe in Barangay Daliao.

Recovered at the site were various high-powered firearms and a black flag bearing an ISIS logo.
