Roomboy sued for sex assault

A 22 YEAR-OLD roomboy is facing criminal complaint for allegedly sexually harassing his 21-year-old co-worker inside the inn where they work along Quimpo Boulevard on March 19.

Rico Hamisula Silma of Lamba, Marilog District was sued for violation of Republic Act 8353 (Anti-Rape law). Silma is now temporarily held in the Talomo Police Precinct while waiting for Prosecutor Joy C. Bernales-Largo to resolve his case.

Based on complaint, the victim was sleeping in her designated room and was awakened at around 5 a.m.  by somebody entering her room. Silma then grabbed her hands and reportedly sexually molested her.

After the incident, at around 8:30 a.m. she went to the Sandawa police outpost to report the case.

Police officers accompanied her at the inn and Silma even approached them. The victim then pointed to the suspect as the one who raped her. The victim was later brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for the medical report, which will serve as evidence against him.

During the investigation of Silma at the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of Talomo police, he reportedly confessed to the crime.
