Reshuffling at the city police

AS A RANKING police officer linked in the Davao Death Squad (DDS) was transferred to the office of Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa, a reshuffling in the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) was implemented.

Supt. Antonio Rivera was relieved from his post as the deputy city director for administration effective March 6, and has since moved to the office of Dela Rosa at the national police headquarter in Camp Crame.

Rivera was reportedly assigned at the police office handling permit to carry firearms outside residence in the headquarters.

As he is retiring in December 2017, Rivera is said to have been assigned in the police headquarters to process his retirement papers.

Rivera was one of the police officers implicated by retired SP03 Arturo Lascañas in the DDS, the alleged vigilante group formed by then mayor and now president Rodrigo Duterte to kill rivals and crime suspects.

Supt. Grecel Sagpang replaced Rivera as the DCPO deputy director for administration.

Sugpang formerly headed the Talomo Police Precinct.

Chief Insp. Oliver Navales has assumed the post as the Talomo station commander on March 8.

Navales was previously assigned at the DCPO’s Investigation Detection and Management Branch (IDMB).
