Relief order pending

Six of 12 police station chiefs may be released
HALF of the 12 police station commanders in the city are due to be relieved.

However, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Sr. Supt. Michael John Dubria said in his last conversation with police regional director Chief Supt. Manuel Gaerlan, that the relieve order will be temporarily put on hold.

Included in the relieve order are the chiefs of Buhangin, Bunawan, Calinan, Paquibato, Sasa and Tugbok.

“The order came from the higher office,” Dubria said. “So there is no move yet.”

The police city director said there were some parameters set by the PRO XI that affected the ratings of the DCPO.

“Thus, some police precincts got a low rating score,” Dubria said.

They are conducting a series of conferences to try to address the issue and identify the problems.

“There are so many parameters and criteria since the start of the Project Double Barrel,” he said. These include the deaths under investigation, documentation and others factors.

“We conducted several buy-bust operations, arrest and neutralization, house visitations,” Dubria said, citing the accomplishments of his command but the higher command may not appreciate such accomplishments as “they failed to see the positive performances.”

He said the DCPO is not only focusing on illegal drugs but also in security operations.
