Police deepen probe into village chair’s slay

The police created a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) to investigate the murder of the barangay chairman of Pasian in Purok 4, Poblacion Monkayo, Compostela Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz, the spokesperson of Police Regional Office XI, identified the victim as Joselito B. Crisaldo, 56, married and a resident of Purok 1-A, Barangay Pasian.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was standing beside his red Strada pick-up truck with plate number LGK 146 on his way home when the unidentified gunman shot him twice on the head.

The suspect fled on board a black TMX motorcycle and sped off toward Cervantes Street.

The victim was rushed to the Compostela Valley Provincial Hospital in Montevista but was already dead before he arrived. Recovered from the crime scene was one cartridge from a .45 caliber pistol.

In an interview yesterday, Driz said they are still investigating the motive of the killing. “It may be personal grudge,” she said.
