Phoenix Hot August Races set Aug. 22-23

THE MUCH-anticipated 2014 Phoenix Accelerate Motor Oil Hot August Races reels off on August 22 and 23 at the Speed City track of the Crocodile Park.

“Some 70 entries are expected to join the motorsporting event which will have the Class A, B, C and Quick 8 categories contesting on the 1/8 mile track,” said Fritz Tan of the organizing AM/FM Productions and the Davao Classic and Sports Car Club in last Tuesday’s SCOOP Session at the Royal Mandaya Hotel. Tan came to the weekly sports gab along with Jinggo Camomot of AM/FM Productions and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines’ Mark Cruz and Charydel Cassandra Malintad.

It will be a bigger and better race than its previous competitions as entries from Manila, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos City and probably Cebu are expected to give our local participants a good run for the title.

The city’s bets for possible podium finishes include entries from Ground Image, Team Classic, Davao Classic and Sportscar Club, Mashado Racing and DMT.

Time trials will be on August 22 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. while race proper will be on the 23rd at 9 a.m. onwards.

Aside from the top three winner in respective brackets, special awards will also be given to the best reaction time and best qualifying time.

Entry fee of the motorsporting event presented by Phoenix Accelerate Motor Oil, Davao Classic and Sports Car Club and AM/FM Productions is pegged at P2,500.

The two day event which is part of the 2015 Kadayawan celebration is supported by Sta.Lucia Realty, Davao Crocodile Park, City Government of Davao, Tower Inn, Loleng’s Mountain Spring Resort, Abreeza Ayala Malls, Syncom Janitorial Services, The Racing Line, Radyo Ukay 819 kHZ, Wild 92.3 WT and 95.5 Hit Radio.
