PDEA XI gets assault rifles, vehicles, body cameras

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency received new equipment worth P13 million from the national headquarters last Saturday.

The agency received 28 Galil assault rifles worth P198,000 each. Two Toyota Hi-Ace vans worth P2,800,000, five drones, and 10 body cameras were also turned over to the office, along with two ballistic shields, 35 units of modular type vests, five units of DSLR camera, five computer sets, and seven Yamaha motorcycles.

Antonio Rivera, the director of the PDEA XI, said in an interview at his office said that the equipment, particularly the firearms, can boost the operations of the agents especially in the conduct of their operations.

“Our two Hi-Ace vehicles are also intended for our operations,” Rivera said. “These will also be distributed in our provincial offices.”

He said all regional offices of the PDEA have received the same equipment.
