Partly passable

Diversion road closed from 9 pm to 5 am for clearing operation
THE LANDSLIDE-HIT portion of C.P. Garcia highway will be passable for 16 hours starting today as the continued clearing operation is set on the remaining eight hours.

“Starting Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, the Diversion Road (from corner Maa to Bangkal) will only be passable from 5 am to 9 pm while clearing operations at the landslide area will be done from 9 pm to 5 am,” the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XI said in its advisory.

All vehicles going north are advised to take the MacArthur Highway while trucks and other heavy vehicles are advised to use the Ma-a Road going C.P. Garcia. Only light vehicles can proceed from Ma-a to Shrine Hills while trucks are advised to take the Ma-a road going MacArthur Highway.

The DPWH has been working continuously the area since July as a boulder threatened to roll off the cliff along the Diversion Road.

By October, the situation worsened as landslide hit the area.

The road was closed and a monster traffic jam hit the city for weeks.

The agency is currently working on the expansion of the road from four lanes to six.
