Part of diversion road closed on Sept. 21-25, Sept. 28-Oct. 2

The City Transport and Traffic Management Office will implement a temporary partial road closure of the Carlos P. Garcia highway (diversion road), particularly in La Verna Hills, from Sept. 21 to 25 and Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.

The closure was announced to pave way for the construction of a drainage system by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Dionisio Abude, chief of CTTMO, reminded the public, especially the motorists, to avoid passing the area to prevent clogging up that part of the highway.

Repair and maintenance of the flood control and drainage system is expected to start on the said dates without further delay.

“For those coming from Panacan going downtown, they are advised to take the Sasa road going to R. Castillo Street. Motorists from Buhangin could turn right to Angliongto going to J.P. Laurel, Bajada,” Abude said.

“Meanwhile, drivers from Ulas could take MacArthur Highway towards Quimpo Boulevard going straight to R. Castillo until Sasa,” he added.

He also asked the motorists and riding public to be patient as the DPWH personnel will work hard to complete the draining project within schedule. (Regina Mae Ronquillo)
