PARADIGM SHIFT| President Donald Trump and a deep state

Since Donald Trump took office, his days have been filled with executive orders to clean up the unconstitutional excesses of the Obama presidency. He has also pledged to make America great again, wanting to increase defense spending, reform the tax code, deal with illegal immigration, and restore American prestige and security.  All these changes and promises have been met with vicious attacks by CNN’s fake news against Trump. Recently President Trump insisted that former President Barak Obama wired both his phone and Trump Tower and that the CIA and the FBI are leaking information to embarrass him and his administration, all evidence that President Trump and his supporters believe there is a deep state within the U.S government working against President Trump.

For sure President Trump and former President Obama are two very different men. Their personalities, as much as their politics, will define this conflict. Liberal media wrongly accuses President Trump of being totalitarian, but biased and fake media, like CNN, fail to ignore the true totalitarian leader, such as that of former President Obama, who will use the machinery of government to go after his opponents while pretending to be an honest and peace loving person. The battle for a great America is just beginning. The question is “Can Donald Trump make America great again?” There are, for sure, some who do not like the fact that Trump is rocking their boat and not allowing them primacy in policy making, the status they enjoyed under President Obama. President Trump’s ideas are indeed very dangerous to the wealth and power of the deep state members, and that is why they want him stopped.

We all believe that the US policy should be determined by the nations’ elected representatives amid a careful balancing act among the judicial, the legislative, and the executive branches of government. But in reality, to a degree the unelected deep state controls the United States, its resources, its government, and its people. President Trump is at war with the shadow government in his bid to expose the elite group that is operating in Washington D.C. The same power did not want Trump’s National Security Advisor, General Michael Flynn.

The concept of a deep state is not unique to only the US. Virtually every nation has been ruled by wealthy and influential special interests either directly or by proxy. Ignoring political rhetoric and focusing on where money, power, and influence truly reside will reveal the real deep state.  We can see the same rhetoric in the Philippines against President Duterte.

President Trump’s first act as President was a visit to CIA headquarters, where he addressed a gathering of CIA employees, implementing his plan to clear the swamp almost immediately after he took office. The corporate media like CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC, as well as elements within the intelligence community are demonizing President Trump and do not care that he is the democratically elected President with a mandate from the people; instead, they think that only impeachment can save American democracy because their candidate did not win the election, and, therefore, they lost control of the White House.  The reason the deep state is very powerful, aside from their power and money, is that they have not been elected and therefore are accountable to no one.

Actually a deep state is the antithesis of democracy. When Donald Trump questioned the role and function of NATO, saying it cost the American taxpayer too much money and was being misused by the EU states, this evaluation bothered some of the deep states members. When President Donald Trump did not want to return to the cold war with Moscow, deep state members forced the expulsion of some Russian diplomats, charging them with espionage and trying hard to make President Trump not have normal relations with Russia.  When Donald Trump called the Iran nuclear agreement a disaster and objected to it, the same deep state was not happy with his assessment. In their view the President’s erratic personality makes him an unreliable caretaker of deep state interests. They much preferred someone like them such as Hillary Clinton. Probably, if Trump does not satisfy the deep state members, his days in office may be numbered. Members of the deep state want more for themselves and less for everybody else.

So who is the deep state?  It is the insiders comprising the government– bureaucrats, lobbyists, crony capitalists, Wall Street executives, National Security agents– a non-elected shadow network of institutions that run the country no matter who is in White House and without accountability to the people. The still murky assassination of President John F Kennedy is a clear example of a deep state. Another example is the reason former National Security advisor Michael Flynn was forced to resign, because Flynn discussed lifting sanctions on Russia with the Russian ambassador. Granted, it is illegal for a private citizen to conduct diplomacy on behalf of the US, but an insider leak from security led to his resignation. The same is true for Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who recused himself from any investigation into Russian interference in the U.S Presidential election. The US Attorney General asked the forty-six chief federal prosecutors to resign.

It is time for President Donald Trump to purge the deep state members or saboteurs. According to history. President Abraham Lincoln cleaned house in the federal government. He fired more than seventy-five percent of the executive branch employees because he feared that they could be disloyal. President Trump should do the same and fire those in government who are actively working against him.

According to the dictionary, deep state is defined as a shadowy network of agency or military officials who secretly conspire to influence government policy. It more often happens in countries like Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan, where authoritarian elites undermine the democratically elected government or leader. According to WikiLeaks, perhaps a dubious source but one that entertains possibilities, the Central intelligence Agency now can hack computer networks and create false impressions of a foreign intrusion into computer networks. WikiLeaks documents that the CIA’s Remote Devices Branch’s UMBRAGE group collects and maintains a library of attack techniques stolen from malware produced in other states including Russia. So, apparently, the CIA can increase its total number of attack types and misdirect attribution by leaving behind fingerprints of the groups that attack techniques stolen from a source. If this is accurate, this means that the CIA could hack people and institutions and then accuse others of the cyberattacks in what amounts to false flag operations. What if someone within the CIA or someone within UMBRAGE could have hacked into Hillary Clinton’s campaign and made it appear that it was carried out by Russians? Holding to this potential, the Democrats claim Trump stole the election with the help of Russian spies.

We have to keep in mind that the job of espionage is all about deception and veering off track. According to WikiLeaks, the CIA recently lost control of the majority of its hacking tools including viruses, Trojans, worms, etc. These cyber weapons could be used against the US and its ally companies, such as IPhone, Androids, Microsoft Windows, and Samsung TV, which could be turned into covert microphones. The CIA created something called “Weeping Angel.” These embedded devices branch to infest smart televisions and after the infestations, Weeping Angel places the target TV in a fake “off mode,” so that the owner falsely believes the TV is off when it is on. In the fake off mode the TV operates as a bug, recording conversations in the room and sending them over the Internet to the CIA server. To believe this requires the notion that the CIA will do anything to survive. CIA officers are taught to lie whenever necessary all the while trying to justify the breach of trust by claiming that they are doing it for national interests and for national security; their primary goal, however, is to protect the Agency. If President Trump does not get rid of them, they will get rid of President from inside, the way they got rid of President Kennedy.

Whether anyone believes in the existence of a deep state working to undermine the Trump presidency depends on how he or she defines deep state and uses the term. While accepting conspiracy theories may seem fringe behavior, aligning facts over time may cause even the most profound thinker to question the parallel events involving Washington elite and the concerted trumpeting of most media sources in their dissonance against Trump and his administration. Although this period may be labeled “the Post-Truth World,” most citizens long for truth, transparency, and clear and honest discourse better suited for a participatory democracy.
