Panabo drug den yields P300,000 worth of shabu

THE PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI seized more than P300,000 worth of illegal drugs during a raid of an alleged drug den around 10 p.m. in Northern Plain subdivision, Barangay Gredu, Panabo City, Davao del Norte on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, six persons were arrested during the operation.

Nephi Dimaandal, spokesperson of PDEA XI, said the subject of the search warrant was identified as Jhonel M. Acero, 40, resident of the said place.

Dimmandal said Acero has a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Sec. 5 of Republic Act 9165 after he eluded the arrest during the buy-bust operation last 2012.

He was also one of the big-time and elusive drug perpetrators operating in Davao del Norte, the police said.

Agents were able to recover about 25 grams of shabu with a street value of P375,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia inside the house of Acero.

During the implementation of search warrant, five visitors of a suspected drug den were also arrested and identified as Bayani Barrientos, Ranel Patris, Dean Harris Revalde, Rommely Enriquez and Rhea Silvestre.

The suspects are now detained at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI detention facility.

Cases for violation of sections 6, 7, 11, 12 and 15 under Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared against the suspects.
