PAL Interclub Seniors: Rancho Palos Verdes grabs lead in Sportswriters

LEANING on its steady drives and precise putting, Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club came up strong to grab the overall lead in the Sportswriters Class of the 32nd Philippine Airlines Seniors Interclub golf team championships yesterday in Bacolod City.

Playing back-to-back at the Binitin course, Rancho Palos Verdes scored 123 PAL Stableford points in Day 3, Saturday morning for a 351-point total. They had rounds of 108 and 120 in the first two-days of action which one was played at the Marapara course. Their 351-point total eased past former leader Veterans Golf-A which had 327 (111-119-101) and Taotaomona Guam with 323 (105-113-105) going to today’s final day of action to be played at Marapara.

Yesterday’s scores came from Joe Tesado and Noe Taojo who had similar 42s while Jun Serado added 39. Randy Cadiongan finished with 38 but did not count.

Pitted to see action today and a chance for a title run for Rancho Palos Verdes are Abraham Dizon, Lito Dublan, Deo Cura and Elias Ariba.

The Interclub’s Platinum sponsors this year are Primax Broadcasting, RMN and Fox, while major sponsors are BusinessWorld Publishing, Rolls Royce, TV5, Philippine Standard.
