3 arrested in early morning raid
THREE suspects with arrest warrants were held by authorities during the simultaneous “Oplan Bulabog” operations in seven areas around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

They were identified as Renato Z. Cabariana Jr. for violation of Comelec Resolution No. 10015 docketed under CC # R-Dvo-16-00663-CR; Joel R. Jamora for less serious physical injury under CC # M-DVO-1603601-CR; and Jenelyn A. Quibol for simple slander in CC nr M-DVO-16-03607-CR.

City police director, Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum, said they herded a total of 974 individuals in Purok 9, Lower Madapo, Barangay 8-A; Arroyo compound, Matina Crossing; Bolinao site, Km. 12; Muslim Village, Barangay Ilang; Alegre and Manggahan, Toril; and Deca Homes, Barangay Tacunan, Tugbok District.

Tagum said the series of preemptive operations resulted in the profiling of 974 persons. The report said that 165 could not present any identification, while 13 were classified as internally displaced persons from Marawi City.

The operation was conducted by the Davao City Police Office together with the Regional Public Safety battalion, Philippine coastguard Davao, Regional Mobile unit, Regional Intelligence Unit, National Bureau of Investigation XI, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group XI, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency with the five provincial police offices of the Police Regional Office XI.

The activity ended at about 10:30 a.m. yesterday.

Speaking in yesterday’s AFP-PNP press conference held at the Task Force Davao headquarters, Sr. Insp. Maria Teresita Gaspan, spokesperson of Davao City Police Office, said the simultaneous raids are part of the operation to strengthen the monitoring of people involved in illegal activities, as well as the request of the barangay officials.

“We also (confirm) that there are persons with warrant of arrest,” Gaspan said.
