City needs academe’s help to document construction

THE LOCAL government is asking for the help of the academe to document the construction of the tribal village at the Magsaysay Park on the occassion of the Kadayawan Festival by August.

City Tourism Operations Office head Regina Rosa Tecson, in an interview Monday, said the tribal village will be set up as one of the destinations for the festival.

However, these would also include the rituals for the construction of each respective indigeous peoples group.

“We need help documenting the process,” Tecson said.

Tecson said the local government is partnering with architecture schools and organizations for the project.

The tribal village is one of the attractions of the Kadayawan Festival, which is slated on the second to third weeks of August.

This week, the private sector partners of the government is set to meet among themselves to update their preparations for the festival.

The organizers are expected to decide this week the total budget for this year’s celebration.

The local government is also convening its Kadayawan executive and security committees this week.
